Profile - Mat Campbell
Guard |
Unknown when he joined the Hawks as a 19-year-old from Bendigo, Campbell has become the face of the club. He has earned a reputation as a dangerous three-point shooter and averaged almost 14 points per game for his career. He was the club’s first player to reach 400 career games and may yet hit 500. A proud leader, he is the current Hawks captain and provides a steadying influence for younger team-mates on and off the court. Campbell is an uncompromising defender and had missed just three games in his career before an Achilles injury forced him out for almost a third of the 2007-08 campaign. In 2009, Mat Campbell's no.32 jersey was retired alongside long time team mate Glen Saville's no.12. |
