The diminutive Lowery landed in Wollongong at the start of the 2000-01 season after toiling in obscurity for several years on the state league and SEABL circuits.

He was a key figure in the ‘01 title-winning campaign, hitting THOSE three free throws against Adelaide to lift the Hawks into grand final series.

A cheeky larrikin who loved a post-match beer with fans as much as he loved winning, Lowery still keeps in touch with plenty of mates in the ‘Gong.
