Profile - Glen Saville

"Sav" owns just about every Hawks record after 15 seasons with the club.
He rose all the way to the top, leading Wollongong to their one and only NBL title in ‘01, capturing Grand Final MVP honours before representing Australia at the Athens and Beijing Olympics. From a high flying athletic slasher without a consistent jump shot early in his career, Saville developed a solid perimeter game, finishing the 2009/10 NBL season as the league's most accurate three-point shooter. He has never averaged more than 18 points in a season but like his idol Scottie Pippen, Sav is an excellent rebounder, defender and passer. There’s nothing he can’t do on the court. In 2009, Glen Saville's #12 jersey was retired alongside long time team mate Mat Campbell's #32 jersey. |
