Profile - Gordie McLeod
Guard |
An outstanding Illawarra junior rep, McLeod became synonymous with the Hawks. He was arguably the league’s quickest player during the first half of his career and Hawks fans rose from their seats whenever he sped up the floor leading the fast break. McLeod led the league in assists in ’84, ’85 and ’87 and represented Australia at the Moscow Olympics. He became the Hawks coach last season and guided the team to the grand final. In 2008, Gordie McLeod's no.5 Jersey was retired alongside Chuck Harmison's no.4 jersey. |
