Profile - Norman Taylor
Centre |
Taylor was one of the few Hawks imports that didn’t play above the rim and his shooting range didn’t stretch to the three-point line. But the man nicknamed Stormin' Norman finished his three-year career as an all-time fan favourite, pouring in a club-record 54 points in the ‘90 season. With an arsenal of spin moves and Barkley-esque rump which made him virtually unstoppable in the low post, Taylor averaged 27 points and 11 rebounds and made an incredible 65 per cent of his field goals for his career. His 29.9 scoring average in ‘89 is third on the Hawks single-season scoring records behind the great Mike Jones. Stormin' Norman still holds the club record for field goal accuracy, making 70 per cent of his shots in 1991 and 67 per cent in 1990. |
